I Seek to Escape
I seek to escape,
The dearth
to sail,
Neither being
a scavenger,
Not setting
about a trail…
I seek to
escape,
Not as a
lion from his pride,
Or a servant
from his master,
Never,
shall I present my cowardice,
To bargain
for a stride…
I seek to
escape,
The over-comprehended
poem of discipline and life,
The unfinished
symphony of work and glory,
To master
sorrow and relish the struggle’s strife.
I shall
carry this escapade,
When the
sunflowers blossom,
Till them I
shall stand by,
And succumb
to this symphony.
Alas! The sunflowers
shall never blossom!
I seek to
escape, and this shall forever lie…
